Amoral - Year of The Suckerpunch (2009)

Amoral,一隊原本我非常欣賞的一隊芬蘭的technical death,處女作"Wound Creation"那一種細密而複雜(兼具侵略性)的演奏技巧讓當時還是在聽power metal的我耳目一新,也是從"Wound Creation"開始我就改為聽extreme metal.去到2nd album "Decrowning",即使是變了較為直向,少了一點技巧的death thrash,我還是支持Amoral;不過,去到07年樂隊3rd "Reptile Ride"的時候,不知發生了什麼事,曲風忽然間一下子由death metal變了power metal,他們的招牌riff沒有了,主音Niko更加由死腔變了類似metalcore的"拆聲",恍惚變成了另外一隊band,令我大失所望.....及後主音Niko離隊(我相信是他頂唔順而離隊),樂隊沉默了一年多之後,忽然在08年尾突然宣佈樂隊找了07年Finnish Idol冠軍的當紅炸子雞-----Ari Koivunen入隊!那時樂隊的myspace,更宣稱在新作中Ari除了會唱melodic的vocal line之外,還會重歸早期的death metal風格.

不過,待我聽完他們今年的頭炮single(現在芬蘭的音樂市場都可算勁了,連Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Kalmah那些melodic death原本不出single的都在今年狂出)"Year of The Suckerpunch",我就完全放棄......這跟Ari在玩自己的solo根本無分別,是一隊純正的power metal,已經跟death metal完全無關,只是背後樂隊變了Amoral罷了!

但為何會變成如斯模樣呢...?永遠是個迷...
